I stumbled upon a game at the bookstore a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t resist the challenge they presented. Ever looking for different ways to stir the muse, Rory’s Story Cubes definitely fit the bill.
I picked them up thinking they could offer interesting amusement while sharing a bottle of wine with friends. Later I thought they’d serve as the heart of a challenge to myself and my fellow writers.
And so….a new challenge to writers of every ilk. My most immediate circle of peers consists of erotica writers, but with others such as Ebony Hampl, Leah Petersen and so on, I thought something more open to a variety of genres would be well received.
Welcome to the first edition of the Writer’s Weekend. Every week I will roll the dice. They will be posted Friday at midnight(EST). I invite all writers, no matter your genre or your style, to try your hand at this challenge. Short, long, prose, poetry, I welcome all!
Your challenge…to write a piece that encompasses the nine elements shown on the dice. Once completed, add your link below and crow your success on twitter under the hashtag #WeekendWriter! If you don’t have a blog to post to, please post it in the comments!
So…without further due…here’s the challenge!
I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!
